Friday, June 16, 4:00pm: "A Shout in the Street" – Bloomsday at Dive 106
Our Third Annual Bloomsday celebration, presented in conjunction with the James Joyce Society, will be happening on Friday, June 16, starting at 4:00pm at Dive 106 (at West 106 Street and Amsterdam Avenue). We are excited to announce that, in addition to excerpts read by those who attend and sign up (we ask that you choose a section of less than five minutes), we will have scenes performed by Malachy McCourt, the Elevator Repair Service, and IAW&A President Maria Deasy as Molly Bloom. We'll also have live music from Liz Hanley.
It's a great way to get a sampling of a towering literary accomplishment, and to connect with its very earthy, streetwise sensibility. Say "yes" to this engaging and fun tradition!
